INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES TO AUTHORS FOR SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
- Introduction
The Universal Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Innovative Development (UJMRID) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes high-quality research in all areas of multidisciplinary scientific inquiry. Authors are invited to submit original research, reviews, short communications, and other types of scholarly articles related to innovative developments across diverse fields.
These Instructions and Guidelines are designed to help authors prepare and submit their manuscripts in accordance with the standards set by UJMRID. All manuscripts will be subjected to a rigorous peer-review process to ensure high academic quality and scientific integrity.
- Types of Articles Accepted
UJMRID publishes the following types of articles:
- Original Research Articles: Full-length articles presenting original research findings.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews on specific topics in the field.
- Short Communications: Brief articles on new and significant findings.
- Case Studies: Detailed analysis of specific research cases or phenomena.
- Methodological Papers: Articles that describe novel research methodologies or improvements in existing methodologies.
- General Submission Requirements
- Online Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system on the journal’s website. Submissions via email will not be accepted.
- Language: Manuscripts must be written in English.
- Length of Manuscript: The typical length of a manuscript should not exceed 8,000 words for research articles and 5,000 words for reviews or short communications, including references, figures, and tables. Please refer to the specific submission type guidelines for any exceptions.
- Formatting: Manuscripts must be typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5-line spacing and 1-inch margins on all sides. The text should be submitted in a Microsoft Word or LaTeX file format.
- References: All references must be formatted in accordance with the APA (7th edition) citation style. The reference list should be at the end of the manuscript.
- Figures and Tables: All figures and tables should be clearly labeled and included in the manuscript. High-resolution versions of figures should be submitted separately as image files (preferably in JPEG or TIFF format) if the file size is large.
- Manuscript Structure
The manuscript should be organized as follows:
- Title Page:
- Title of the manuscript (should be concise and informative).
- Full name(s) of the author(s) with affiliations (institutional or organizational), and corresponding author details (name, email address, and phone number).
- ORCID IDs of authors, if available.
- Acknowledgments section (if applicable), including funding sources and other contributions.
- Abstract:
- The abstract should summarize the key findings of the study in 150-250 words.
- It must include the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
- The abstract should be self-contained, meaning it should not require reference to the full text.
- Keywords:
- Provide 3-6 keywords that describe the subject matter of the manuscript for indexing purposes.
- Introduction:
- This section should provide a clear background to the problem or research topic, a review of relevant literature, and the aim or research question of the study.
- Materials and Methods:
- The methods section should describe in detail the experimental or analytical procedures used in the research, including the materials, equipment, and techniques used for data collection and analysis.
- If applicable, ethical considerations (e.g., approval from an ethics board or informed consent for human or animal research) must be stated.
- Results:
- This section should present the research findings in a clear and concise manner, using appropriate tables, figures, and graphs to support the text.
- All results should be explained in the context of the research question(s).
- Discussion:
- In this section, authors should interpret the findings, discuss their implications, and relate the results to existing literature.
- Address any limitations of the study and suggest future research directions if applicable.
- Conclusions:
- Summarize the main findings and their implications for the field, based on the research objectives and results.
- References:
- All references should be cited in the APA (7th edition)
- Only published or in-press references should be included. Citations of unpublished work, such as personal communications, should be avoided unless essential.
- Acknowledgments:
- This section should mention individuals or organizations that contributed to the study but are not listed as authors, including funding agencies.
- Conflicts of Interest:
- Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest that might influence the interpretation of their findings. This includes financial, personal, or professional conflicts.
- Data Availability Statement:
- Authors must include a data availability statement indicating whether the data supporting the findings is publicly available and where it can be accessed (e.g., in a public data repository).
- Ethical Considerations:
- Ethical approval for studies involving human participants or animals must be clearly stated. If applicable, authors must confirm that they have adhered to relevant ethics guidelines.
- Submission Process
- Registration: Authors must create an account in the online submission system on the journal’s website. This account will be used to track manuscript status, submit revisions, and communicate with the editorial team.
- Manuscript Submission:
- Submit the manuscript and all supplementary files (figures, tables, supplementary materials) through the online submission portal.
- Ensure that all files are correctly labeled (e.g., docx, figure1.tif, etc.).
- Cover Letter: A cover letter must be submitted along with the manuscript. The cover letter should include:
- A brief summary of the manuscript’s key points.
- A statement confirming that the manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by any other journal.
- A statement of adherence to the journal’s ethical guidelines.
- Review Process:
- All submitted manuscripts will undergo peer review. Authors will receive feedback from reviewers, which may include suggestions for revisions.
- Authors must submit revised manuscripts with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments.
- Final Decision: The editor will make the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript, based on reviewer feedback.
- Copyright and Licensing
- Upon acceptance of the manuscript, authors are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement or an Open Access Agreement, depending on the publication model.
- Authors submitting to UJMRID must agree to the Open Access model, where articles will be freely accessible to all readers.
- License: Articles published in UJMRID are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing others to reuse the work with proper attribution.
- Ethical Guidelines and Responsibilities
- Authors must ensure that their work complies with ethical standards, including:
- Research Integrity: The data and results should be presented honestly, and there should be no falsification or manipulation of results.
- Human and Animal Rights: Research involving human participants or animals should be conducted following ethical guidelines and appropriate approvals.
- Plagiarism: Manuscripts should be original, and proper citations must be provided for any content that is not the author’s own.
- Conflicts of Interest: Authors must declare any financial or personal relationships that may influence the research.
- Fees and Charges
- Submission Fee: There may be a nominal submission fee for certain types of submissions. Please refer to the journal’s website for the latest fee details.
- Article Processing Charges (APC): If the article is accepted for publication, authors may be required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) for open access publication. Please refer to the journal’s website for up-to-date information.
- Manuscript Revisions and Resubmission
- If the manuscript requires revisions, authors should carefully address the reviewers’ comments and provide a detailed response outlining how each comment has been addressed.
- Revisions should be submitted within 30 days of receiving reviewer feedback, unless otherwise agreed upon with the editorial team.
- If a revised manuscript is not submitted within the specified time frame, the submission may be considered withdrawn.
